The December 1996 installment is the last update available for Encarta 96 Encyclopedia owners. The program for maintaining an up-to-date encyclopedia continues, however, for people who upgrade to Encarta 98 Encyclopedia. Owners of the new, three-disc Deluxe edition receive at least 40 Yearbook articles and hundreds of links to the World Wide Web FREE each month, for a total of 18 monthly installments, providing current and in-depth information to supplement the content of Encarta Encyclopedia (take a tour now). For an annual fee of $19.95 US ($29.95 CDN), owners of the two-CD edition can subscribe to the same Yearbook and Web Links update files.

Be sure to complete the integration process after you've downloaded updates; this will ensure that you can display updates within your encyclopedia. After the download is complete, open Encarta Encyclopedia. On the Home screen, click Stay Current, and then click the Add New Months button in the Yearbook Builder screen. In the Add New Months screen, click Integrate.
